Converted value = source value × scale factor + unit offset, when required

Most units convert through a shared base unit using a fixed scale factor. Temperature scales also require an offset, so those conversions use an affine formula rather than multiplication alone. The workspace keeps full precision for the calculation and rounds only the displayed result.
